Now that this blog is basically down to one (from its original five), you, dear readers, are going to have to put up with the things that I(AYM) find interesting, namely the Red Sox, Tom Brady, Lost (and more TV) and home decor — not necessarily in that order.

Which brings me to this endearing quote from Manny Ramirez to the New York Times’ Jack Curry:
“After all this is over, all I want is for my kids to go to college and to be their best friend,” Ramírez said. “That’s all I want. I don’t care about home runs or whatever.”
Say what you will about the enigmatic slugger, but I think he really is a genius. And, apparently, a doting dad.

Adorably cute. Although I do have thoughts on parents trying to be their children’s friend and not caretaker/disciplinarian. But in Manny’s case I think I’ll let it slide….
