Jenna & JamesPeople.com is reporting that Jenna Fischer, aka Pam, has split from her husband of six years, James Gunn. Sad. Will Jim move in for the kill? Was that a bad joke?Krik

By the by, James Gunn is the less famous brother of Sean Gunn, better know to IAYMers as Kirk from “Gilmore Girls.”

Not sure I ever understood who he was or why she was with him.  A mediocre not-very-famous singer with a drug problem?  Who looks like a 15 year old who plays too many video games?  I would rather be irrevocably single.  Oh, wait . . .

It’s Official - The CW Drops the Ax on Veronica Mars May 18, 2007

Filed under: Television and Movies, Veronica Mars, dunzo — davissn30 @ 2:20 pm

It’s bedtime for Veronica. So sad for our little heroine that could. It’s being replaced by the Reaper, which is Kevin Smith’s new joint. (Can I say that?) Which, in turn, stars Bret Harrison, aka “The Valley” version of Seth Cohen, aka Adam Brody’s real life b-fry, aka the guy from “The Loop.” (Or someone that only Your Mom and I have ever heard of.) Which, in turn, means that The Loop’s seasonette this summer will likely be its last. So long to the wacky gang at The Loop; we hardly knew ye.

And a very sad, tearful goodbye to Ms. Mars. We knew ye well and loved ye a whole whole lot, but the CW is not with the love.

R.I.P. Gilmore Girls May 3, 2007

Filed under: Television and Movies, dunzo — davissn30 @ 3:23 pm

Sad sad.  Even though I haven’t watched the show this year.  And am 5 seasons behind.  And heard it pretty much sucks this year since the creator left.  Still, it’s like losing a friend who you hardly ever see and forget about when she’s not around, but those rare times when you catch up, you remember why you want to spend all your time with her.

Gilmore Girls comes to a close after seven seasons
The CW and Warner Bros. TV have announced that they will cease production on Gilmore Girls after this season’s final episode, which airs May 15. The announcement ends speculation that the dramedy would return for short, 13-episode run next season intended to wrap the series. The CW and WBTV released a joint statement that said: ”Announcing the final season of Gilmore Girls is truly a sad moment for everyone at The CW and Warner Bros. Television. This series helped define a network and created a fantastic, storybook world featuring some of television’s most memorable, lovable characters…. [We] promise to give this series the send off it deserves.” (Variety)

Prince William Is Reported to Be Single Again

Middleton and Prince William have ended their four-year relationship, a decision that surprised palace-watchers and disappointed monarchists hoping for a glamorous royal wedding to rival that of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. . . .

The Sun newspaper reported the breakup Saturday in a front-page story, saying the couple had reached an ”amicable agreement” to separate. . . .

The news took many royal-watchers by surprise. It was widely thought the couple would soon announce their engagement; one bookmaker was so certain of a royal wedding it stopped taking bets on it earlier this year. The retail chain Woolworths had commissioned mugs, plates and other Wills-and-Kate memorabilia, despite the absence of a formal engagement. . . .

Some held out hope for a happy ending.

”Let’s not rule out a reconciliation when he realizes what he has lost,” said Judy Wade, veteran royal correspondent for Hello! magazine.

Others were glad to see the end of the affair.

”He deserves better,” said 13-year-old Jessica Davis. ”I think Prince William should marry me.”

The case I have spent the last two years of my life on had a shocking turn of events yesterday when the judge dismissed the GM’s complaint because he said it sued my client too late.  I promise I will find a better article than the one below as soon as it comes available.  I know the IAYM readers are waiting with bated breath…

Royal & Sun Alliance says GM asbestos claim dismissed

LONDON (AFX) - Royal & Sun Alliance, the UK general insurer, said a US court has dismissed a claim against it from carmaker General Motors Corp for asbestos-related damages reported to be in excess of 1 bln usd. RSA said the Michigan Circuit Court had ruled in a pre-trial hearing that GM is not entitled to coverage from RSA for its asbestos and environmental liabilities. The decision means that a full-scale trial pencilled in for February will now not go ahead. An RSA spokesman said he did not know whether GM is entitled to appeal. The case centred on whether RSA, which had provided insurance to GM through its US subsidiaries, was liable to cover the carmarker against compensation claims from workers who suffered asbestos-related injuries. Although neither side has put a figure on the extent of the liabilities, press reports have said they could be in excess of 1 bln usd. RSA shares were up 0.46 pct at 162-1/2 pence by 10.55 am.
